Our Philosophy

The word psychical comes from the Greek psychikos — of the soul, of the mind. It was once used for the earnest, sometimes credulous study of mind and experience at the edges of what science could yet explain. We borrow the word deliberately: an app development company can take the mind just as seriously, but with modern psychology and philosophy of mind as its instruments instead of the séance table.
Carl Jung spent much of his career arguing that self-knowledge is active work, not a fact you're handed. We build software on that premise: an app can be a place to look inward, if it's built with enough care not to get in the way.
I
Prima Materia — Raw material
Every app starts as an unresolved question about the mind — something we've noticed in ourselves or read in the literature that doesn't yet have a good tool built around it.
How We Build
We think of the process the way the old alchemists described their own — not as mysticism, but because the stages still describe what actually happens between a question and a finished piece of software.
II
Solutio — Dissolution
We take the question apart: research in psychology and philosophy, prior art, and honest conversations about what would actually help.
III
Coagulatio — Building
The idea is given form — interface, interaction, and the quieter engineering decisions that decide whether a tool feels trustworthy.
IV
Rubedo — Completion
The finished work is released into people's hands, where it's actually tested — and where the next question usually starts.
